The “House of Good Tones” from Srebrenica and USAID’s peacebuilding project PRO-Budućnost organized the fourth “Concert of Friendship,” held in the “Pavarotti” Music Center hall in Mostar.

One of the most inspiring stories from Srebrenica and our country, the “House of Good Tones,” continued its tour after concerts in Prijedor, Bijeljina, and Niš, Serbia, sending universal messages of trust, understanding, and shared responsibility for a better and more beautiful future.

In collaboration with the “Mostar Rock School” from Mostar and “Čarobna nota” from Niš, the “Concert of Friendship” featured children from Srebrenica, Prijedor, Mostar, and Niš. They performed the most beautiful traditional songs from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, and Serbia, as well as classical music and hits from the domestic and international pop-rock scene, in front of a full audience.

IsmarPorić, the executive and artistic director of the “House of Good Tones,” stated that with the support of USAID’s PRO-Budućnost project, implemented by Catholic Relief Services (CRS), regional cooperation among children, youth, and music workers has been achieved. Through this cooperation, they not only make music together but also learn about each other, socialize, and exchange experiences.

“By participating in such events, young people are given the opportunity to meet, share interests and experiences, develop social and individual identities, learn from each other, and contribute to creating everyday life through music, art, and culture. They gain access to quality educational, cultural, and entertainment content, developing a sense of belonging to the world of universal human values,” said Porić.

For the third year, the PRO-Budućnost project has been a friend of the “Concert of Friendship,” providing all participants with access to art and culture, encouraging intercultural dialogue, understanding, and collaboration.

“If we start from the folk wisdom that those who sing mean no harm, I believe we couldn’t find a better way to connect young people from different communities than through music, nor a better partner than the House of Good Tones. We are especially pleased that all the concerts we have supported so far do not remain just one-time events – they create lasting connections that will bring new beautiful stories tomorrow,” said MajdaBehrem-Stojanov, director of the PRO-Budućnost project.

The “Concert of Friendship” was also supported by the City of Mostar.

Through the well-known program from Srebrenica, over the past twelve years, more than 2,000 children and young people have passed through the “House of Good Tones.” More than 150 concerts have been held in our country, the region, and Europe, and they have been awarded several international prizes for their work and engagement.
