From April to September 2025, 29 houses were completed in Srebrenica for families who had spent years living without secure or dignified housing. In total, 118 people received a new home this year — a foundation for safety, stability, and a better future.
This milestone was achieved through the partnership between the House of Good Tones Foundation and the Hilti Foundation, as part of Hilti’s global corporate volunteering initiative Engaged Beyond Business (EBB).
A total of 160 Hilti team members from 25 countries joined forces with the local community throughout spring and summer to bring this project to life.
Volunteers came from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the United States, Sweden, Spain, France, Italy, Portugal, Ireland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Croatia, Greece, Poland, Liechtenstein, Hungary, Russia, Albania, India, China, Singapore, the Philippines, Myanmar, and Colombia. 🌍
The most intensive period took place in May, when 6 houses were completed, while the remaining homes were built steadily through June, July, August, and early September. Each volunteer group — whether 7 or 32 members — contributed to a shared goal: to give families in Srebrenica what they need most — security, dignity, and a long-term sense of belonging.
More Than Construction — A Human Connection
Volunteers didn’t only help build houses. Many visited the House of Good Tones, where they met children and young people, learned about their daily lives, and experienced the spirit and resilience of the community.
These meetings reinforced the core message of the project:
solidarity is not an idea — it is action.
About the EBB Program
Engaged Beyond Business (EBB) is Hilti’s corporate volunteering program, developed in collaboration with the Hilti Foundation. It empowers Hilti employees to participate in meaningful community projects worldwide, addressing critical social challenges and fostering sustainable development.
The program embodies Hilti’s commitment to extend corporate responsibility beyond business by offering employees structured opportunities to make a tangible, positive impact.
EBB connects team members with diverse initiatives — from disaster relief and sustainable construction efforts to educational mentorships and community support projects. These opportunities allow employees to use their skills, expertise, and compassion to contribute to meaningful causes, fostering both personal growth and social development.
While many initiatives are employee-driven, the Hilti Foundation supports selected projects, highlighting and amplifying the dedication of Hilti employees to driving positive change around the world.
Homes That Stay
These 29 homes are not just structures — they are stories, connections, and opportunities that remain long after the tools are put away.
To every volunteer, every supporter, and every local community member who made this possible — thank you.
Together, we build what stay
