Last night, the “Friendship Concert of the House of Good Tones” was held at the “Semberija” Cultural Center in Bijeljina, featuring some of the most beautiful classical, pop-rock, and traditional songs from the region and around the world.

The guitar and choir sections of the “House of Good Tones” from Srebrenica and KDT/BKC from Prijedor put on an excellent concert, with world-renowned and acclaimed Gerald Wirth, president and artistic director of the Vienna Boys’ Choir, as the special guest conductor.

Ismar Porić, executive and artistic director of the “House of Good Tones,” thanked the City of Bijeljina for its hospitality and for creating new connections between Srebrenica, Prijedor, and Bijeljina.

“Tonight, you have a unique opportunity to see how our youth and children send a universal message to the world and across our country, and to enjoy the concert of children from Srebrenica and Prijedor,” said Porić.

He emphasized that for eleven years, the “House of Good Tones” has been working to become a regional platform for meeting, educating, and connecting young people in the Western Balkans and Europe through cooperation with institutions and organizations.

He also highlighted that at the beginning of this year, the “House of Good Tones,” together with partners from BKC Prijedor, launched a new educational and artistic project in the Prijedor region. The project aims to use educational, musical, and cultural activities to develop intercultural and democratic values, dialogue, and understanding among children and youth, teaching them to be initiators of positive change together with their peers from Srebrenica.

The project in Prijedor is being implemented with the support of the Austrian Cultural Forum Sarajevo and the Bauern helfen Bauern Salzburg Foundation.

“By participating in such events, young people are given the opportunity to meet, exchange interests and experiences, develop social and individual identities, learn from one another, and guide each other in creating everyday life through music, art, and culture. They also gain access to high-quality educational, cultural, and entertainment content, developing a sense of belonging to the world of universal human values,” said Porić.

This concert is part of a joint activities program carried out in cooperation with the USAID peacebuilding project “PRO-Future,” implemented by Catholic Relief Services (CRS). After Prijedor and Bijeljina, a series of concerts will take place in the region, with the next concert scheduled in Niš.

The mission of the House of Good Tones in Srebrenica is to make the city better and provide children and youth in Srebrenica, Bratunac, Potočari, Prijedor, and those living in remote rural areas access to quality knowledge, skills, and cultural experiences.
