It all began at the “Music Summer Camp” in Srebrenica in 2018, where cooperation and friendly ties were established with peers and music professionals from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, and Croatia. This was followed by a concert at the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall in Zagreb, and the collaboration continues to this day.
This time, together with our friends Čarobna Nota from Niš, we will hold a concert scheduled for Wednesday, September 7, at 7:30 PM in the hall of the Niš Symphony Orchestra, where, in addition to the hosts, children from Srebrenica and Prijedor will also participate.
Through a carefully selected repertoire, which includes the most beautiful traditional songs from the region (BiH, Croatia, Serbia), classical music (Mozart, Beethoven), and popular music evergreens (Louis Armstrong, John Lennon), all participants are given access to art and culture, encouraging intercultural dialogue, understanding, and cooperation that will strengthen their engagement and opportunities in society.
Participation in such events provides young people the opportunity to meet, exchange interests and experiences, develop social and individual identities, learn from each other, and collectively shape everyday life through music, art, and culture. They also gain access to quality educational, cultural, and recreational content, fostering a sense of belonging to the world of universal human values.
We also aim to send the message that in smaller communities, it is possible to create programs that inspire positive changes in the community and convey universal messages of trust, understanding, and shared responsibility for a better and brighter future.
Through its programs, connections with institutions and organizations, and collaborations, the House of Good Tones in Srebrenica strives to become a regional platform for the education, networking, and communication of young people in the Western Balkans and Europe.
For eleven full years, the House of Good Tones has been the best example of how music, culture, and education can rebuild broken bridges, create new friendships, and form lasting bonds across Bosnia and Herzegovina, the region, Europe, and the world—bonds that only children can form, sincerely and without reservation.
The concerts in Prijedor, Bijeljina, and Niš were organized with the support and cooperation of the USAID PRO-Future peacebuilding project, implemented by Catholic Relief Services (CRS).
