“It is a special pleasure for us to present our long-time collaborator Gerald Wirth at the concert,” said Ismar Porić

The choral and instrumental music concert of the “House of Good Tones” from Srebrenica will be held on March 24 at 7:00 PM at the “Youth Theatre” in Sarajevo. In addition to marking ten years since the first activities of the “House of Good Tones” in Srebrenica, the concert will be an opportunity for the public to learn about the activities of this multiethnic music project, enjoy the performances of the choir, and welcome the concert conductor, director of the “Vienna Boys’ Choir,” Gerald Wirth.

The choral and music sections of the “House of Good Tones” have participated in over a hundred festivals and concerts in various European cities on different occasions, and the guests at the concert in Sarajevo will include choral sections from Niš, Prijedor, and Zagreb.

“‘The House of Good Tones’ strives to offer children and youth in Srebrenica daily activities that are not available in this part of Bosnia and Herzegovina—music workshops, lectures on activism, psychophysical health workshops, literary presentations, and film screenings—which collectively enhance the social and cultural environment in Srebrenica. It is a particular pleasure that we will present our long-time collaborator Gerald Wirth at the concert, who selflessly shares his experience and knowledge with us and motivates us to persist in what we do and to do it better,” said Artistic Director Ismar Porić.

The concert repertoire is a selection of classical and popular music from different cultures and nations, with some compositions performed with the accompaniment of the “House of Good Tones” orchestra, which will also make its debut in Sarajevo.

The concert is supported by the Austrian Cultural Forum Sarajevo and provides an opportunity for the children and youth of Srebrenica to showcase their talents, knowledge, and skills, demonstrating that through their own efforts, they can create better opportunities in the environment in which they live.
